Owls Host Terriers in NAC Match

PRESQUE ISLE, MAINE – The Owls women's soccer team faced off against Thomas College in their second North Atlantic Conference match of the year. The Terriers of Thomas went away with the victory, 4-0. This brings the Owls to 0-8 on the year with a 0-2 NAC record.
 
It was the Terriers that came out of the gate with an early goal, scoring in the 3rd minute of the game. The Owls were able to keep the fight up after the early goal as the teams played even the remainder of the first half. The Terriers had the slight edge in shots with seven to the Owls five in the first 45 minutes. Thomas was able to get going early in the second with a goal in the 50th minute. As the Owls continued to fight, the Terriers put two more goals in the back of the net, in the 77th and 87th minutes of the game.
 
Camryn Ala led the Owls on the attack with three shots, all of which were on goal. Alexis Ireland was also leading the attack with four shots on the game. First year Taylor Marston finished with two shots, both on goal as well. Marissa Havey spent the duration in goal for UMPI, finishing the game with four saves.
 

Next Up: The Owls will host another NAC opponent in Maine Maritime Academy in a mid-week game, Wednesday.
