HUDSON, NH – The UMPI Softball team ran their NAC record to a perfect 4-0, as the Owls swept a Conference doubleheader at Northern Vermont University Johnson, 5-3 and 7-5, Saturday night. The Owls are now 9-12 (4-0). The Badgers dips to 3-10 (0-4).

 In the opener, the Badgers jumped out to a 3-1 lead after three innings. The Owls put the game away with four runs in the seventh. Hailey Saylor (Port Jefferson Station, NY) connected on a two run double, Gracelyn Walsh (Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, Canada) and Zoe Stewart (Pleasant Grove, PEI - Canada) each had an RBI single in the frame. Walsh went the distance for the Owls, striking out seven enemy batters. Abby Terry (Peachtree City, GA) suffered the loss for the Badgers, as she struck out six.

In game two, UMPI jumped out to a 6-3 lead after three innings, as the Owls scored a pair in each frame. The Badgers scored single runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth, cutting the lead down to one at 6-5. UMPI ended the scoring with a run in the seventh. Saylor went the distance for the Owls. Alexis Fleischer (San Diego, CA) went the distance for the Badgers.

GAME 1- (5-3 Owls)

On the mound: Walsh went the distance for the Owls, striking out seven enemy batters. Terry struck out six, going all the way for the Badgers.

At the plate: Walsh had three hits for UMPI, Stewart had two hits for the Owls. Terry, Malea Smith (Canon City, CO) , Nadia Claude (Riverside, CA) and Makenna Drake (Chesterfield, MI)  all had two hits for the Badgers.
 

GAME 2- (7-5 Owls)

On the mound: Saylor went the distance for the Owls. Fleischer went the distance for the Badgers.

At the plate: Saylor and Walsh both had three hits for the Owls. Emma McNally (Patten, ME) had two hits for UMPI. Drake, Claude and Jennavieve Rapoza (Kalihi, HI) all had a pair of hits for the Badgers.
 

The Owls will travel to Auburn, ME Saturday for a doubleheader against, #2 ranked in the country, Central Maine Community College Mustangs.
