UMPI Falls to Beavers 1-3

Owls Unable to Beat the Beavers in Second NAC Game

FARMINGTON, ME – The Owls women's soccer team loses to the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers, 3-1, this brings them to 1-2-2 on the year and 0-2 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Beavers now sit 1-1 in the NAC.

Despite the Owls outshooting the Beaver 25 to 16 including 16 shots on goal for the Owls to the Beavers eight. The Beavers couple minute stretch in the first was costly for the Owls, as they scored two goals in a two minute span. Scoring in the 30th and the 32nd minutes, the Beavers took a 2-0 lead that would stay throughout the first half. Alexis Ireland gave the Owls an early goal in the second half, scoring in the 58th minute off an assist from first year player Camryn Ala. The Beavers added one more goal despite the Owls pressuring the goal, the game would end 1-3.

Of the Owls 16 shots on goal, Ireland led them with six, while four other Owls players finished with two. Savannah Rodriguez was in goal for the Owls finishing with five saves.
