Weston, MA - Owls at Regis In First of Two in Massachussets
The men's track and field team traveled to Regis College, site of this year's North Atlantic Conference Championships, for the Pride Invitational. The Owls placed eighth in a field of 11 institutions with a score of 20. Those scoring points for the Owl were Zach Boyle (Brunswick, ME, javelin – 3rd place, 6 points), Tyler Beach (Kennetcook, NS, javelin – 5th place, 2 points), Paul Kaplan (Embden, ME, triple jump – 3rd place, 6 points), Will Griffiths (Port St. Lucie, FL, 100m – 5th place, 2 points), and the team of Devon Maynard (Perham, ME), Boyle, Kaplan, and Matthew Payan (Auburn, NH) in 5th place and scoring 4 points).
Will Griffiths set a school record in the 100m as he lowered that mark to 11.71. The second record of the day was turned in by Connor Hrynuk (Boonville, NY) in the 800m at 2:13.27. Both Maynard and Andrew Hunt (Peterborough, NH) were under the previous school mark as they clocked 2:14.02 and 2:17.23, respectively. The stronger performances of the day were turned in by Griffiths, the three 800m men, Zach Boyle (javelin), and Sam Carpenter (New Bedford, MA, shot).

Following a second weekend meet at Fitchburg State University on Saturday April 6 the Owls will next travel to Waterville for the Thomas College Small College Open the be held at Colby College.
