Women's Soccer Team Loses to Northern Vermont Johnson 5 to 0

Johnson Vt.–  The Northern Vermont University-Johnson women's soccer team (4-2) topped University of Maine Presque Isle (0-3) by a 5-0 margin at Minaert Field in a Saturday afternoon contest.
 
NV-Johnson Junior Kelsey Cauchon put the Badgers on the board early in the 1st half off an assist by freshman Dezirae Youngman. Less than ten minutes later, Cauchon powered in her second goal of the day from a pass by freshman Dakota Browder. The Badgers upped the lead to 3-0 entering halftime after freshman Monica Weisenforth found the back of the net. Freshman Lindsay Sanchez-Card was credited with the assist. 

 In the 2nd half the Badgers continued to control the ball and Cauchon scored in the 47thminute assisted by Iashia Cooper. Cauchon continued her outstanding day as she scored her fourth and final goal of the game in the 84thminute.

The Badgers outshot the Owls 41-5 for the game.

In the UMPI goal Casey Lovely (So. Easton, ME) turned away 19 shots by Northern Vermont-Johnson. Three different Badger keepers spent time in goal this afternoon.

The Owls travel to Fisher College tomorrow September 16th for a 12:00PM game.
