GORHAM, ME – The Owls were swept on the road, losing both matches 3-0 to Southern Maine and and Castleton.

The Huskies proved to be an unhospitable host as they easily dispatched the Owls in the first match of the day.  The Owls lost 25-8, 25-11, and 25-8.  Abby Jewett (JR, Bass Harbor, ME) had three kills and two service aces.  Hannah Boyce (SR, Bar Harbor, ME) chipped in three kills of her own, while Morgan Swan (SR, Caribou, ME) had 12 digs in the losing effort.

The Owls couldn't right the ship in the second match of the day, facing Castleton who took all three games 25-13, 25-10, and 25-20.  Hannah Williams (SR, Park Falls, NS) led the Owls in kills with 5 and assists with 10.  Swan had four kills and ten digs, while Boyce had four kills as well.

The Owls will host Maine-Machias at 5 PM on Wednesday in their home opener.
