Box Score 2 LYNDONVILLE, VT – The University of Maine at Presque Isle defeated Green Mountain College 3-1, and then lost to host Lyndon State College 3-1 on Saturday.

The Owls fended off the Eagles of Green Mountain College in four sets in the first of two matches.
Hannah Boyce (SR, Bar Harbor, ME) led the Owls with a strong performance. When all was said and done she would have 13 kills, 11 service aces, 5 digs, and an assisted block. Abby Jewett (JR, Bass Harbor, ME) also reached double digits in kills, tallying ten kills and 13 digs in the match. Morgan Swan (SR, Caribou, ME) contributed twelve digs, while Amanda Allen (SR, Limestone, ME) had ten digs. Reigning AD3I Player of the Week Hannah Williams (FR, Park Falls, NS) continued her excellent play, collecting twenty assists, four kills, and seven digs in the win.
Axia Lujan (FR, Tucson, AZ) led the Eagles with ten kills.
Lyndon State def. UMPI 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-13, 25-13)
The Lyndon State Hornets handily defeated the Owls in three of the four sets to end the day for both teams.
Jewett would lead all players with fifteen kills and 18 digs. Boyce would add six kills and three service aces. Swan contributed 13 digs and Katie Patenaude (SR, Presque Isle, ME) would add 11 digs in the losing effort. Williams was credited with ten assists.
Ashley Barski (SR, St. Johnsbury, VT) would lead the Hornets with ten kills, 11 digs, and four service aces.
The Owls travel to Fort Kent on Wednesday, October 14th. They will play two matches against UMFK, with the first one starting at 5 PM.
