Freshman Kallie Pelletier
On the women’s side, the Lady Owls earned the 84-26 victory over PSC improving to 4-10 on the season and 4-1 in conference play. Freshman guard Kallie Pelletier (Madawaska, ME) had a career and game high night in scoring with 28 points in a 13-for-21 shooting effort; K. Pelletier also finished with 5 steals in the game. Emily Moore (Lisbon, ME) added 12 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out a career-high 9 assists, while committing no turnovers in her 25 minutes of play. Emily Pelletier (Fort Kent, ME), Taylor Ussery (Montclair, CA), and Kayla Fleming (Costa Mesa, CA) each chipped in with 10 points in the Owl win; Ussery also finished with 5 assists and 4 steals, while Fleming pulled down 8 rebounds on the day. Julie Peers (Caswell, ME) and Logahn Walker (Strong, ME) added 8 and 6 points each respectively; Walker also dished out 9 assists in the game. Paul Smith’s College was lead by Jordan McGinnes who finished with 9 points and 12 rebounds; Marguerite McMagan added 6 points in the loss. The Owls shot 52% in the game and earned a season high of 28 assists in the win.
Paul Smith’s was led by Ryan Hingston, who finished with a game-high 29 points; teammate Steven Edwards added 11 points and 8 assists in the loss. Both teams return to action at home next Saturday, January 30th as they look to host the Clippers of the University of Maine at Machias for a Sunrise Conference match-up. The women tip-off at 1:00 pm, followed by the men at 3:00 pm. |


Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s and women’s basketball teams both earned home wins on Saturday afternoon over Sunrise Conference opponent Paul Smith’s College of New York at Wieden Gymnasium.
Presque Isle native Chris Coffin earned a double-double on the day, scoring 18 points, including 4-for7 from behind the arc, and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Owls toppled Paul Smith’s College 86-72. Junior guard Devon Peaslee (Woolwich, ME) finished with 18 points, while Patrick Manifold (Great Yarmouth, UK) and Ray Mitchell (Cleveland, OH) both added 14 points in the UMPI win. Kyle Corrigan (Caribou, ME) bettered his career high in assists by one, dishing out 11 in the game; Corrigan also chipped in with 10 points.
