Women's Cross Country Team Wins UMPI Invitational

Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle women's cross country teams hosted their annual UMPI Invitational on the challenging but beautiful course at Park Family Field. North Atlantic Conference opponents Thomas College and Maine Maritime Academy competed in the meet.

Sophie O'Clair from Thomas College finished first, winning the invitational, with a time of 17:19. UMPI Sophomore Katelyn Osborne earned second place in her first college race, with a time of 18:47. Milo Cook-Sharp was the third place finisher. The MMA runner finished in a time of 19:10.

Felix Norkin finished fourth overall, second Owl to finish, with a time of 19:12. Annaset Jackson finished sixth overall with a time of 22:59. Kailee Sprague was the Owls fourth finisher with a time of 25:22, giving her an eighth place finish. Working her way back from injury, Libby Bitar was the final Owl runner to finish with a time of 26:37 as she finished ninth.

The Owls women's team went on to win the invitational with their five runners, an overall score of 15.

The Owls will head to Thomas College on September 11th for the North Atlantic Conference Preview as they prepare for their race in Waterville.
