Brunswick, ME – In the highest quality field seen this season the Owls finished in 49th place of the 54 complete teams competing at this year's NCAA D3 New England Championships at Bowdoin College, third best of NAC schools with complete teams. The harriers of PI raced the course that they previewed three weeks earlier, this time under less than ideal conditions. Ice and light snow made for unsteady footing at times but five of the six harriers posted personal best times in this, the biggest race of the season.
Shelby Shea (Fy. Springfield, ME) led the way in finishing in 275th position of the 380 finishers. Her time of 26:45 for the 6K course bettered her previous best by 56 seconds. Jayde Whitten (Fy. St. Albans, ME) dropped her PR by 1:46 in running 27:10, good enough for 289th. Whitten was followed by Kendra Silvers (Jr. North Berwick, ME) at 27:15 and 292nd, a 15 second improvement. Scoring was rounded out by Annaset Jackson (Fy. Wilton, ME) at 29:22/336th (:06 better), and Kaily Rich (Fy. Lebanon, ME) at 29:28/337th (:09 better). Rebecca Griffin (Jr. Hodgdon, ME) knocked off 1:15 from her previous best in finishing 363rd at 33:21.
The meet winner was Izzi Gengaro of MIT, in at 21:19. The team champion was Williams College with 64 points. Following were MIT (84) and Tufts University (156).
