Owls Compete in Pop Crowell Invitational

Wenham, MA – UMPI's Cross Country team headed to Massachusetts for their meet at Gordon College in the annual Pop Crowell Invitational 6K. The Women finished in 6th place, with 175 points, of the eight teams in attendance.

Shelby Shea (Fy. Springfield, ME) set the pace for the Owls with a 28:17, earning her a 27th place finish. Kendra Silvers (Jr. North Berwick, ME) was the next Owl to finish with a 43rd place 29:17 finish. Jayde Whitten (Fy. St. Albans, ME) finished close behind with a 30:22 time and a 50th place finish. Annaset Jackson (Fy. Wilton, ME) finished in 53th place in a time of 30:37. The final scoring Owl to finish was Kaily Rich (Fy. Lebanon, ME), crossing the line with a time of 31:32 and 58th place.

Rebecca Griffin (Jr. Hodgdon, ME) shaved off almost three minutes off of her time last week, finishing with a time of 35:12. Hannah Harmon (Fy. Jackman, ME) finished with a time of 35:43.

The Owls will head home to support their alumni in the annual 5K, before heading to Waterville to run in the Maine State Championships, hosted by Colby College on October 5th.
