Lyndonville, VT – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls headed to Lyndon, Vermont today for the North Atlantic Conference Preview Women's Cross Country 3K. Eight NAC teams competed in this meet, as UMPI placed 3rd with 87 point in an all-around team effort. Husson University took home the win with 28 points. U-Maine at Farmington earned second, with the race winner Chloe Kenyon. Maine Maritime Academy placed fourth, SUNY Canton came in fifth. While NVU-Johnson, NVU-Lyndon, and Thomas College did not place due to number of participants.
Kendra Silvers (Jr. North Berwick, ME) lead the way for the Owls in her first race of the year, finishing 12th with a time of 15:56. Shelby Shea (Fy. Springfield, ME) finished in 16th place over all with a 16:56 time. Annaset Jackson (Fy. Wilton, ME) followed closely with a 17:03 time giving her an 18th place finish. 21st place went to Hannah Harmon (Fy. Jackman, ME) who finished with a time of 17:47, followed by Kaily Rich (Fy. Lebanon, ME) finishing in 21st place with a time of 18:11, giving the Owls their 87 points and a 3rd place finish. Rebecca Griffin (Jr. Hodgdon, ME) was the final Owls racer with a 23rd place finish and a time of 18:39.
The Owls will head to Gordon College in Wenham, MA on Saturday the 21st to compete in the Pop Crowell Invitational.
