Owls Place 3rd in UMPI Invitational

Presque Isle, ME – The season opening meet at UMPI's Park Family Field was a success. The Women's 5K UMPI Invitational was led by U-Maine at Farmington as they finished with an impressive 15 points. Maine Maritime Academy finished 2nd with 52 points. The Owls earned the 3rd place spot with 64 points. Thomas College was in attendance but unable to place with only two runners. Katie LeBlanc out of UMF won the 5K with a time of 22:41.

Jayde Whitten (Fy. St. Albans, ME) led the Owls in her first college meet with a 26:49 time and an 8th place finish. Annaset Jackson (Fy. Wilton, ME) finished 11th with a time of 28:04. Kaily Rich (Fy. Lebanon, ME) finished 15th with a time of 29:45.  Hannah Harmon (Fy. Jackman, ME) finished with a time of 30:09, placing 16th. Rebecca Griffin (Jr. Hodgdon, ME) rounds out the Owls top five runners with a time of 31:00, placing 17th.

The Owls head to Lyndon for the North Atlantic Conference Preview next Saturday, September 7th at 12:00pm.
