The 2017 members of Owls women's cross country will be led by returning Junior runners Chenoa Jackson and Elise Gudde.
Jackson (Wilton, ME and Mount Blue High School) is coming off a strong 2016 season that saw her run her strongest race of last season on the 6 kilometer course at USCAA nationals in Virginia Beach last November. She will be running in familiar territory when the Owls run in their opener on September 2 at UM-Farmington. Gudde, from the strong Caribou High School system, is looking toward a strong early season start having put in solid off-season summer training. Jennie Sanborn, no stranger to the UMPI track program, is making the transition to longer distances in her first season at the 5K distance. Kendra Silvers (North Berwick, ME) will round out the core of the women's squad, coming from a strong showing in last spring's outdoor track season having run the middle distances.
