Women's Cross Country at Bowdoin

The U Maine Presque Isle Women's Cross Country Team finished 8th in the Bowdowin Invitational on Saturday.

U-Maine at Presque Isle runner Brianna Lesperance (Embden, ME) got the green light to race on Saturday and didn't disappoint.  In her first ever 6K event she clocked 29:12 which translates to a 24:06 5K performance, well under her previous best for this distance.  Her injuries from earlier in the season cooperated as she cruised to a 53rd place finish in the meet won by visiting Wellesly College.  Following were, hosts Bowdoin, Endicott College, U-Maine Farmington, Husson University, Maine Maritime Acadmy, and the Owls.

Chenoa Jackson finished in 59th spot at 29:12 and was followed by teammates Elise Gudde of Caribou (70th, 33:30), Val Annunziata of Honeoya Falls, NY (73rd, 35:42) and Brianna Losse of Pittsfield, ME (74th, 35:48).

The Owls look forward to the Homecoming Weekend off before their next meet in Standish for the St. Joseph's of Maine Runnin' Monks Invitational.
