Women's Cross Country Continues Improvement

STANDISH, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Women's Cross Country team continued moving forward, despite it's 12th place finish in the Runnin' Monks Invitational.

Chenoa Jackson (FR, Wilton, ME) set the pace for the Owls, coming in at 46th place with a time of 23:03.5.  Tabitha Taylor (SO, Ticonderoga, NY) fought through an injury to finish with a time of 25:25.2.  Sara Bell (JR, Unity, ME) came in right behind her in 50th place.  Elise Gudde (FR, Caribou, ME) and Katrina McPherson (SR, Caribou, ME) rounded out the scoring for the Owls.  McPherson was the highlight of the day for the Owls.  She improved her time from her previous race by over five minutes, despite the tougher course.

The Owls compete in the Maine State Championships next week at Bowdoin College.  The race starts at 2 PM.
