The NCAA Association of Division III Independents recently released it's listing of post-season awards selections for men's and women's cross country. Four UMPI runners were chosen for the second team, three men and one woman.
Kayla Legassie (Presque Isle, ME) made her second AD3I team on the strength of her fifth place and First Team All-American finish at nationals.
Philip Boody (New Sweden) and Corey Hebert (Baldwin, ME) made the list again as a result of their consistency all season and their strong showings at the USCAA national meet held in Syracuse, NY on November 8. Jesse Sandstrom (New Swede, ME), in his first year as a collegiate runner, was the third UMPI men's harrier to be selected.
The awards cap a strong season by both teams as they move into winter training in preparation for the upcoming road racing and track and field seasons.
