The UMPI women's team again worked the challenging Colby course, last ran two weeks ago at the Colby Invitational, against the best collegiate runners in the state of Maine. The meet was won by Lucy Skinner of Bowdoin College with a 5 kilometer time of 19:01.
Bates College of Lewiston was the meet's team winner. The Presque Isle harriers' team score of 25 placed them in eighth place, 15 and 35 points better than Maine Maritime Academy and Thomas College, respectively.
UMPI's own Kayla Legassie improved on here earlier course time by 10 seconds coming in at 20:30 and 18th place overall in the field of 121 women. Support from mates Destinee Neureuther (85th, 24:48), Breanna Kafka (104th, 27:24), Ghaz Sailors (116th, 30:25), and Shawna McDonough (117th, 32:14) solidified the strong team finish.
The lady harriers will next run a dual meet at home against USCAA rival Unity College on the 26th.
