NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia – University of Maine-Presque Isle senior Kayla Legassie (Presque Isle, ME.) has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the period ending September 29th, 2013.
Legassie finished the Bowdoin College 6K Invitational in a time of 24 minutes and 55 seconds. It was her first race at the 6k distance this season. The 2012 USCAA All-American sprinted out to a 6:17 first mile and averaged a 6:40 mile pace for the race.
