Farmington, ME -- Justin Fereshetian (Sr. / Turner, ME) is the lone senior on this year's University of Maine-Presque Isle men's cross country team. This weekend at the UM-Farmington Invitational, he showed the importance of experience on his way to a 5th place finish on the 6K course. Fereshetian's time of 22:19 spoiled eventual first place finishers University of New England from having their runners make up the entire top five.
"His experience was very much in evidence when he held off a late charge by the eventual 6th place finisher," UMPI head coach Chris Smith said of Fereshetian.
Philip Boody (Fr. / New Sweden, ME) was the second Owl to cross the finish line with a time of 22:19. As a team, UMPI finished 6th in the 8 team competition.
This was the first race of the season for the men's cross country team. Next up is the University of New England Invitational in Biddeford, ME on Saturday, September 10. Race time is set for 11:30am.
