Volleyball Loses Two in Tri-Match at Keene State

Keene, NH - The UMaine-Presque Isle Women's Volleyball Team (7-12) lost two matches on the road today at Keene State College. After losing in three straight sets to UMass-Dartmouth (7-10), the Owls also, fell 3 to 0 to the Keene State Owls (17-5). 

UMPI lost the first set by a score of 25 to 16 followed by Keene State dominating the next two sets each by the score of 25 to 14. Keene State caused some problems for UMPI at the net with their size as their roster included five 6'0" players, along with two players standing at 5'11". The New Hampshire Owls had a 43 to 23 advantege for the game in kills.

Miranda Washinawatok (So. Shawano, WI) recorded 6 kills and had 17 digs for Me-Presque Isle. Maddi Thweatt (So. Middleton, ID) led the Owls with 8 kills and also had 14 digs. Setter Laura Aroz (Jr. Tucson, AZ) had a team high 20 assists.

For the Home Team, Ali McLoughlin had 9 kills and 12 digs. Emilyann Ashford recorded 9 kills as well 6 digs, Megan Palmer 8 kills and 11 digs, while teammate Nina Davis had a game high 24 assists and Bailey Wilson added 14 assists.

Next up: The Owls will play two matches at Presque Isle vs. UMaine-Fort Kent at 12:00PM and 2:00PM on Saturday October 13th.
