PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The American Collegiate Athletic Conference relesead the All-ACAA Volleyball teams this afternoon and two Owls received honors. Freshman Miranda Washinawatok (Shawano, WI) was named to the First Team, and also received Freshman of the Year honors. Maddi Thweatt (FR, Middleton, ID) was named Honorable Mention.
Washinawatok led the Owls with 256 kills, which was good for fourth overall in the ACAA. Her .140 Attack Percentage for the season put her in the top 15 of the conference, while her 261 digs tied her for tenth in conference stats. Washinawatok also led the Owls with 14 solo blocks and was good for 37 service aces this season.
Thweatt would finish second on the team with 234 kills, which ranked fifth overall in the ACAA. She would lead the Owls with 264 digs, the ninth best total in conference. Thweatt would collect 12 solo blocks and four assisted blocks on the season, finishing one behind Washinawatok for the team lead. She would also end the season with 31 service aces.
Both Washinawatok and Thweatt played in ever set for the Owls this season.
