Owls Swept on the Road

PLYMOUTH, NH – The Owls Volleyball team (4-9) got swept by Eastern Connecticut State (8-4) and Plymouth State (10-5) on Saturday afternoon.

Eastern Conn. St. def. UMPI 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-14)

Maddi Thweatt (FR, Middleton, ID) and Taylor Johnson (FR, Eagle, ID) would both be credited with six kills to lead the team, while Johnson would add eight digs.  Esmeralda Galvan (SO, Bullhead City, AZ) would contribute seven digs while Miranda Washinawatok (FR, Shawano, WI) would add five digs. 

Eastern Connecticut State would end the match with 40 kills and .330 attack percentage.

Plymouth St. def. UMPI 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-13)

Johnson would lead the Owls with eight kills.  Thweatt would be credited with 11 digs, Galvan would collect six digs, while Laura Aroz (SO, Tucson, AZ) would have five.  UMPI would end the match with a negative attack percentage. 

The Owls will travel to the University of Maine at Machias for a Wednesday evening doubleheader.  Those matches are scheduled to begin at 5 pm.
