PRESQUE ISLE, ME – UMPI Volleyball (4-7) was able to take a game from Husson (8-6) on Wednesday night on the road, but the Eagles would win the match 3-1.
After losing the first two games (25-12 and 25-23) the Owls would bounce back and take the third (25-17). The momentum would carry over into the fourth, as UMPI would hold the lead in the early goings of the fourth and deciding game, but Husson would surge to take the lead, the game (25-17), and the match.
Maine-Presque Isle was led in kills by Taylor Johnson (FR, Eagle, ID), who finished with 12 kills and seven digs. Miranda Washinawatok (FR, Shawano, WI) added nine kills and 20 digs, while Hannah Williams (JR, Park Falls, NS) and Maddi Thweatt (FR, Middleton, ID) would both collect 16 digs.
The Eagles would have the advantage in kills (41-36), assists (39-36), and service aces (19-5). In the victory.
The Owls return to action on Saturday when the travel to Plymouth State (9-4). They will take on Eastern Connecticut State (6-4) first at 2 pm before challenging their hosts at 4 pm.
