Owls Take Match to Fifth Set

Presque-Isle vs. SUNY Cobleskill

In match two for the ladies from Presque Isle, the Owls pushed SUNY Cobleskill to a fifth set before bowing in the final game.  The Fighting Tigers took the match with set scores of 25-19, 26-24, 24-26, 31-33 and 15-7.

Cobleskill (6-2) took the first two sets of the match before UMPI (0-10) found its stride defensively and gritted out several long rallies to come back and tie the match at 2-2. The highlight of the match was a 33-31 set four which saw both teams have several game point opportunities, but failed to convert until UMPI was able to side out for the win.

Offensively, the Fighting Tigers were led by Abigail Wilson who notched a team-high nine kills while teammate Raven Worthing added a game-high 25 digs.

 UMPI was led by Abby Jewett who registered 10 kills and was followed closely by Shannon Brown who notched nine to go along with her team-high 22 digs. Morgan Swan directed the offense with 20 assists. Hannah Boyce supplemented the offense with seven kills in the loss.
