Owls Show Improvement at Fitchburg State

Fitchburg, MA -

The University of Maine at Presque Isle women completed their fourth meet of the season at Fitchburg State on Saturday.  One school record was broken as were two previous personal bests.  Liz Ward Winthrop, ME) continued improving in the 100m as she lowered her previous 100m record to 16.02.  Personal bests were turned in by Marge Dickinson (Lisbon Falls, ME) in the shot (7.90m/25-11) and Rebecca Griffin (Hodgdon, ME) in the 800m (3:31.44).

Chenoa Jackson (Wilton, ME):  1500m – 6:19.45

Marge Dickinson (Lisbon Falls, ME): shot – 7.90m/25-11 (*personal best); discus – 18.85/61-10; javelin –  25.77/84-06

Liz Ward (Winthrop, ME):  100m – 16.02 (*school record); shot – 5.96/19-06.75; discus – 15.34/50/04; javelin – 20.25/66-05

Jenny Sanborn (Sangerville, ME): 100m – 19.54; 200m – 44.28

Irina Norkin (Denmark, ME): 1500m – 5:46.43

Rebecca Griffin (Hodgdon, ME): 800m – 3:31.43 (*personal best)

Laura Fitzgerald (Springvale, ME):  100m – 18.86; 200m – 40.47

Dianna Poulin (Woodland, ME): shot –5.36/17-07; discus – 12.94/42-05; javelin – 13.89/44-07

 

The Owls are next at Colby College on April 14 for the Thomas College Small College Open.
