Owls Women's Track & Field Team Finish 9th at Regis

Weston, MA -                                                                                          Owls at Regis College for Pride Invitational

 

The University of Maine at Presque Isle women fielded eight athletes at Regis College in Weston, MA on Friday.  The Owls scored two points as Marge Dickinson (Lisbon Falls, ME) finished in fifth place in javelin, placing the Owls in ninth place of 11 teams.  Strong individual performances were turned in by Irina Norkin (Denmark, ME) in her school record run of 2:52.88 in the 800m.  Liz Ward (Winthrop, ME) lowered the 200m UMPI mark to 33.32.

Chenoa Jackson (Wilton, ME):  800m – 3:04.28 (*personal best)

Marge Dickinson (Lisbon Falls, ME): shot – 7.60m/24-11; discus – 21.33m/70-00; javelin –  26.70m/87-07

Liz Ward (Winthrop, ME): 200m – 33.32 (*school record); shot – 6.02m/19-9; discus – 16.80/55-01; javelin – 19.50m/64-00

Jenny Sanborn (Sangerville, ME): 100m – 18.59; 200m – 39.80

Irina Norkin (Denmark, ME): 800m – 2:52.86 (*school record); 200m – 33.84

Rebecca Griffin (Hodgdon, ME): 800m – 3:44.57

Laura Fitzgerald (Springvale, ME):  100m – 18.86; 200m – 40.42

Dianna Poulin (Woodland, ME): shot –5.78m/18-11.75; javelin – 14.73m/48-04

 

The Owls are at Fitchburg State University on Saturday April 6th for the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational and will be at Colby College on April 14 for the Thomas College Small College Open.
