2015 will make Trevor Parent’s fourth season at the helm of the women’s soccer program for his Alma Mater, the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Since Parent took over the program in the spring of 2012 there have been 10 USCAA Academic All-Americans, one USCAA First Team All-American, one AD3I Conference Player of the Year, six GSAC Academic All-Conference selections, one USCAA Third Team All-American selection, five GSAC First Team All-Conference selections, and one NCAA Division III Statistical Scoring Champion.
Coach Parent has received his Advanced Regional Diploma and his National Diploma through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). At the age of 26, the NSCAA recognized Trevor with the distinction of a "Distinguished Pass" upon his completion of the National Diploma.
Trevor has also received coaching credentials through the Football Association (FA), the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the National Academy of Speed and Explosion (NASE), and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Before taking over the women’s program, Trevor worked under Alan Gordon as an assistant to the men’s side for three seasons. The men’s team made appearances in two separate NAIA Sunrise Conference semi-final matches during that time.
As a head coach in 2011, Coach Parent led Dynamite F.C. to a New England U-23 Men’s Soccer Championship. Trevor also led Dynamite F.C. to a U-19 Northeast Regional Futsal Tournament appearance. (Futsal is an official form of indoor soccer). Dynamite F.C. was presented with the “Fair Play Award” for the 2010 Men’s U-19 Tournament.
Parent had a quality soccer playing career. While in high school, he played for the Maine U-16, U-17, and U-18 Olympic Development Program (ODP) Teams. As a junior in high school, he was identified and invited to represent the United States in an international tournament in Germany. Once in college and playing under Coach Gordon, the center back received numerous awards including: MVP, Coaches Award, Stanley Small Award (UMPI Athletics’ Department), and All- Tournament and All-Conference Selections.
Trevor resides in Presque Isle with his wife Julie and their daughter Emily.
