Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle is proud to bring in another Women's soccer in-state star to the Owls team. Taylor Shute from Erskine Academy, played four years on the varsity team, starting two of those years.
Throughout her time at Erskine Academy, Shute, was given the coaches award my senior soccer season, was selected for the All-Star south regional team for the senior bowl, also, the KVAC All-Conference 2nd Team. In her senior year she was also awarded the KVAC All-Academic award.
Shute also played for multiple club soccer teams in the last couple of years. Including her last year with Dutch Soccer Academy under Coach Tammy Krul. "Taylor is a gifted athlete capable of playing a variety of positions. Her tenacious spirit and work ethic sets her apart as one of the most improved players I have ever worked with." said coach Krul.
Shute plans to major in Psychology with a plan to go into Psychiatry. "I chose to go to UMPI because I knew it was going to give me the education that I wanted while also getting the chance to play soccer with a team that can give me new experiences and connections I will hold on to for the rest of my life." Shute continued, "The biggest thing that made me chose to go to UMPI was the fact that they would offer me the opportunities I wanted to experience throughout my years in college."
