Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle brings in another local women's soccer rising star to the Owls roster. Katie Levesque is a player out of Central Aroostook High School.
The four-year starter and two year captain broke the goals scored record at Central Aroostook. Levesque, finishing with 142 career goals, shattered the previous record of 97 and currently is in the top five scorers in Maine.
Levesque talked about her decision to commit to UMPI, "As for my deciding process, I weighed out my values and realized I have too much here to go away for college." An Exercise Science major with a concentration in pre-health, Levesque continued, "UMPI is the perfect school for me because I live 15 minutes away, they offer the exact major that I want, and I will be able to play soccer with everyone that was a competition to me in high school. I will be able to save a lot of money by going to UMPI, and by playing soccer I will be able to be a part of a new family playing the sport I love."
Head coach Aaron Marston talked about Levesque's scoring ability, "Katie is one of those players with a nose for the goal, she finds herself in good positions and has a knack for putting it in the back of the net. She will be able to step in and have an impact for us right away."
