Bangor, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls women's soccer team played in their final regular season game of the 2019 season. Another close game for this young Owls team ended in overtime. Husson University came away with the win on a goal in the first OT.
Husson maintained possession for the majority of the match but the Owls defense held up well. The Eagles pressured the net with ten shots in the first half only one of which was on goal, thanks to the defense of the Owls. Husson added another seven shots on goal in the second half, all once again saved by Savannah Rodriguez (Fy. Presque Isle, ME).
UMPI ended regulation with four total shots, before the start of overtime. Once again the Eagles came out firing early with three shots on goal in the first six minutes before finally scoring the game winning goal in the 97th minute of the game.
The Eagles advance to 7-5-1 and 6-1-1 in the North Atlantic Conference while UMPI falls to 7-6-1 and 2-5-1 in the NAC.
