Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls women's soccer team advances to a 7-4-2 regular season record after a 2-0 win over the Fisher College Falcons of Boston, Mass.
UMPI was in control of the match from the start putting up eight shots on goal in the first half seven of which were on goal, including the goal scored by Hannah Nadeau (So. Madawaska, ME). Her goal was assisted by Marissa Valdivia Reagle (Jr. Seattle, WA) in the 27th minute.
The Owls were not finished on the offensively as they continued to pressure the net, putting putting another eight shots on goal in the second half. Including another goal, this time by Reagle and assisted by Alexis Rodriguez (Fy. Caribou, ME) off a corner kick.
UMPI finished the shut out game behind the team's defense, led by Savannah Rodriguez (Fy Presque Isle, ME) in goal. Finishing the game with four saves.
UMPI will host the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners in a conference match up this next Saturday the 26th at 3:30 PM.
