Owls Lose to Thomas College in NAC Match Up

Presque Isle, ME – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls hosted North Atlantic Conference opponent Thomas College on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Terriers would take the game with a 5-1 victory.

The Owls started off strong with an early goal by Marissa Valdivia Reagle (Jr. Seattle, WA) in the six-minute mark, her 5th goal on the year. The Owls kept the pressure on with a near goal by Hannah Nadeau (So. Madawaska, ME), that was deflected by a Terrier defender.

The Terriers would soon answer with a goal at the 20-minute mark, tying the game at one. Just two minutes left in the half, Thomas would add one more goal to take the lead.

The Terriers defense contained the Owls throughout the second half, not allowing a shot, while extending the lead. Back to back goals by Thomas at the 52 and 53-minute marks brought the lead to 4-1. Late in the game the Terriers added their final goal.

Savannah Rodriguez (Fy. Presque Isle, ME) fought hard in the goal with seven saves on the day.

The Owls will host Unity College at 3:00pm tomorrow September 22nd at Park Family Field.
