Owls Soar Past Falcons in 5-0 Victory

Boston, MA –The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls women's soccer team starts their season 2-0, after traveling to Boston to play a match against the Fisher College Falcons.  The Owls were in control the whole game with a 5-0 victory on the day. 

The Owls once again came out of the gate quickly with a goal at the 2:42 mark by Marissa Reagle (Jr. Seattle, WA), Sara Doughty (Fy. Winslow, ME) assisted Reagle on her second goal of the year. Alexis Rodriguez (Fy. Caribou, ME) then followed with back to back unassisted goals, 20:15 and 32:36 minute marks, bringing the Owls a 3-0 early lead. 

Reagle and the Owls were not done; she scored one more first half goal with an assist by Olivia Pelletier. The Owls defense continued to hold the Falcons off throughout the game holding them to seven shots on goal during the shut out game.  Kylie Vining (Fy. Island Falls, ME) added one final goal for the Owls, assisted by Rodriguez, bringing the lead to five. 

Savannah Rodriguez (Fy. Presque Isle, ME) started in goal with four saves in the first half. Alexis Levesque (Sr. Madawaska, ME) continued the shut out with three more saves on the game. 

UMPI heads to Maine Machias on Wednesday September 11th.  The Owls home opener conference match-up will follow, Saturday the 14thvs. U-Maine at Farmington.
