Presque Isle, ME - The UMaine-Presque Isle Women's Soccer Team found themselves down only 2 to 1 at the half-time break to a Fisher College team they lost to in Boston a week ago by an 8 to 1 score. The Owls (0-8) played the Falcons (2-4-1) even in the ball control game in the opening 45 minutes of the game.
Fisher's Ali Mosdale put the visitors on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal at the 21:08 mark. The Owls would respond quickly and tie the game as striker Jordi Legassie (Sr. Presque Isle, ME) would find the net just four minutes later with Kelsey Robinson (Fr. Atkinson, ME) getting the assist. Senior forward Mosdale would anwer the Legassie goal with her second score of the half at the 27:00 mark and Fisher College would carry a 2 to 1 lead into intermission.
Senior midfielder Delaney McNutty would score her 11th goal of the season early in the second half on an assist by Mosdale putting the Falcons up 3 to 1. The game remained 3 to 1 for the next 32 minutes of play before Mosdale would net her third goal of the day unassisted, and then the Senior forward tacked on her fourth score on a feed from Grace Roach, as the Falcons stretched their lead to 5 to 1 which was the final.
UMPI Goalie Casey Lovely (So. Easton, ME) stopped 16 shots on 21 attempts while Fisher Goal Keeper Alexandria Colvin turned away 8 of the 9 Owls shots that she faced.
Next up: Me-Presque Isle will Host North Atlantic Conference foe Thomas College at 12:00PM on Saturday, October 6th. The Owls will play at Park Family Field on October 7th as well, when Unity College comes to town for a 12:00PM game.
