Boston, MA – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Women's Soccer Team (0-6, 0-2) lost 8 to 1 at Fisher College (1-2-1) on Sunday afternoon on the artificial turf at Hormel Stadium.
The Owls fell behind early as the Falcons scored at the 1:57 mark on a goal by Senior forward Ali Mosdale which was assisted by Will Memeus. Senior midfielder Delaney McNutty scored the next 3 goals for Fisher, one unassisted and two on feeds from Mosdale. Mosdale then added her 2nd goal at the 53:55 mark to send the Falcons into the halftime break leading 5 to 0 over the Owls.
2nd half goals by Mosdale, McNutty and then Mosdale again, gave the Falcons an insurmountable 8 to 0 advantage before UMPI was able to get on the scoreboard on an unassisted goal by Jordi Legassie (Sr. Presque Isle, ME).
Owls goalie Alexis Levesque had 15 saves in the net on 23 Fisher shots while freshman Alexandra Colvin had 3 stops for the Falcons. Fisher College outshot UMPI 40 to 16 for the game and both squads had 4 corner kicks each.
Next up: North Atlantic Conference opponent SUNY Canton of New York will come to Presque Isle on Saturday September 29th for a 12:00PM Homecoming game. The Owls will entertain Fisher College on Sunday September 30th at 12:00PM.
