Fisher Uses Big Second Half to Down Owls

MEDFORD, MA – Second half goals would sink the Owls Women's Soccer team (1-11) as the Fisher Falcons (10-3) would shutout UMPI, taking the 4-0 win.

Despite Fisher gaining a 20-3 advantage in shots in the first half, the Owls would manage to play to a scoreless draw at the half.  Intermission would not be the respite UMPI was looking for, as the second half would turn into more of the same.

The Falcons would finally break through in the 58th minute, when Julia Schojan (SR, Rochester, NY) would find the net.  The constant barrage on goal would continue to pay off, as Amanda Santiago (SR, Saugus, CA) (63:05) and Delany McNulty (JR, Los Angeles, CA) (67:56) would start to put the game out of reach UMPI.  Holly Lesperance (SR, Litchfield, NH) would add the finishing touch, scoring in the 84th minute.  Santiago would collect three assists in the matchup.

Owls' keeper Allie Lopez (SR, Kingfield, ME) found herself under fire all afternoon, and would tally 18 saves.

UMPI will finish their season on Sunday afternoon when they will again take on the Fisher Falcons.  That game is scheduled for 1 pm.
