PRESQUE ISLE, ME – The first ever meeting between the UMPI Owls (1-4) and the Bryant and Stratton – Liverpool Bobcats (2-4) ended in favor of the visitors on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats would take a 5-1 victory at Park Family Field.
It took just 28 seconds for the Bobcats to get on the board, as Cindy Jacquet would get an assist from Portia Davis and punch one in. The Owls would answer in the 25th minute, as Abby Deveau (SR, Littleton, ME) would find Jessy Dickison (SR, Houlton, ME). Dickision would tie the game up with her second goal of the season.
From there the Bobcats would start to assert themselves. In all, they would outshoot the Owls 34-7 in the afternoon. They would score two goals before the break, and add two more in the second half, and UMPI would not be able to answer.
Davis would end with two goals and an assist, while Jacquet would also add two goals.
The Owls turn their attention to Homecoming weekend where they will host a pair of games. On Saturday Unity College will come to town for the first meeting of the year between the two teams. That game is scheduled to start at noon. Capping off the festivities of the weekend will be a noon matchup with SUNY Canton on Sunday.
