OWLS DEWIND CYCLONES, WIN FIRST GSAC POSTSEASON MATCH

Winston-Salem, NC --  Maine-Presque Isle played an exceptional tactical match, dominating possession to take a 1-0 victory over #5 seed Mills College Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the GSAC Soccer Championship.

Defender Jessica Dickison picked a great moment to score her first collegiate goal, putting home the winning goal at 35:06 on an assist from senior Jasmine Cote and Allison Lopez registers her first shutout of her college goal keeping career to cement the first GSAC post-season soccer win for the Owls.

The Owls outshot Mills College 18-4 for the match and held a 7-1 edge in corners for the match. 

"We played some great soccer, not just the goal, but in general we played very well today," noted Parent.  "I am excited for the girls, we are prepared."

The Owls will now tackle the #1 seed Salem College Spirits, a well-coached bunch that have recently built upon a strong tradition.  The Spirits are 16-4 on the year and are the defending GSAC Champions.  The Semifinal match between Maine-Presque Isle and Salem will start at 12:30 Saturday.
