BANGOR, ME – Desir'ee Hamler notched a goal and assist and Anna Wolterbeek made eight saves to lead the Husson University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win over UMaine-Presque Isle on Wednesday evening at Boucher Field.

Despite allowing 4 goals, Allison Lopez was outstanding in goal for the Owls securing 18 saves in the match that saw the Eagle outshoot Presque Isle 38 to 11 and 17 to 1 in the second half.

North Atlantic Conference leading scorer Leah Hibbad gave the Eagles the lead less than one minute into the game as Mollie Roy assisted on a blistering shot from Hibbard. Hibbad's bullet came from a tough angle to the right of the goal that deflected off Lopez, hit the post and went in.

Hamler notched her goal in the 25th minute unassisted before she found Katey Curtis in the 33rd minute to put the Eagles up 3-0 at half.  Brooke LaBelle capped the scoring in the 81st minute.

The Eagles improve to 11-7 on the year while the Owls fall to 3-11.

The Owls will now return home and prepare to participate in the GSAC postseason tournament in Winston Salem, North Carolina this week.  For once the team the Owls will play against will have traveled further than the Owls, as Mills College will be trekking in from Northern California to compete in the GSAC tourney.  The match starts at 10am on Friday.
