Owls Take Fight On The Road, But Legallais Too Much, Clippers Take Victory

The Blue & Gold fought hard in Machias and Chelsea Nickerson scored twice trying to singlehandedly carry the Owls to victory, but UM-Machias senior strilker Emma Legallais, again proved to be a bit too much to handle,  tallying 3 goals on the day, leading the Clippers to a 6-2 win.

Nickerson's first goal, off a pass from Mikaelah Tracy, tied the score at 1-1 with 8 minutes left in the first half, but the Clippers struck right back less than a minute later as Cayla Thomas scored at 37:17.  The Owls would go to half down 3-1, after another Cliiper goal in the waining minutes of the first period.

Within two minutes of the sound of the horn to start the second half, Nickerson scored an unassisted goal to inch the Owls to within one goal of tying the match.

Legallais, the 3rd leading goal scorer in the USCAA, was held down for almost 50 minutes by the intense Owl defensive pressure.  But the Canadian born Legallais would take over the remainder of the match, scoring three times in 7 shots to end the match with the Clippers taking a 6-2 win to the record books.  In two matches, Legallais has scored 7 goals against the Owls this season.
