Presque Isle, ME, 9/18/11 – University of Maine-Machias' women's soccer player Erin O'Conner assisted on her team's first goal and scored one of her to lead the Clippers to a 2-0 victory over the University of Maine-Presque Isle on Sunday. The win moves UMM to 4-1-1 on the season while UMPI falls to 3-3.
The Owls had opportunities in the first half, outshooting Machias 7-3, but it was the Clippers breaking the scoreless tie at the 31:56 mark on a goal by Kimberly Pratt.
O'Conner's goal came in the 2nd half at the 67:36 mark. For the game, UMPI outshot Machias 14-8. The Clippers were very efficient with their shots however, scoring 2 of the 3 shots they put on goal.
UMPI will next play on Saturday, September 24th when they host USCAA #1 and undefeated University of Maine-Fort Kent. The Owls will be looking to avenge a 4-0 loss suffered at the hands of the Bengals this weekend. Game time is set for 12:00pm.
