Owls Run Win Streak to 5

WATERVILLE, Maine – The University of Maine at Presque Isle women's soccer team shut out Thomas College 3-0  Sunday afternoon.  The win it improves the Owls record to 8-4 on the season.

The Owls struck first as  Elizabeth Keagan (Fr./Amherst, NS) from a corner kick by  Chelsea Beauchemin (Fr./Adams, MA) at the 14:28 mark off the first half. The Owls built on their lead  to 2-0 at the 29:51 mark of the first half when Elena Estrada (So./Dover, DE) scored a goal assisted by Lainey Herring (Jr./Houlton, ME) . 

Herring took matters into her own hands, slipping one past the goalkeeper at the 15:26 mark in the second half to round out the scoring.

Taylor Ussery (Jr./La Verne, CA) made four saves and picks up the win for UMPI.  It was her 5th shut out of the season and now has not allowed a goal in 3 straight.

The Owls will play again October 22nd at Fisher College at 1:00pm.  UMPI defeated the Falcons back on 10/8 in Presque Isle by a score of 14-0.
