Canton, NY — The Owls offense leads them to another win against North Atlantic Conference opponent SUNY Canton sweeping the weekend, this match up will be considered a non-conference game. The Owls were able to outscore their opponent in order to walk away with a 77-55 win.
The Roos started out the first quarter with quick offense, but the Owls were able to match the pace and walked away leading after the first quarter 18-15. Rebecca Davila (El Paso, TX) led the team in the first quarter with 8 points going 3-3 from the field and 2-2 from three point range.
Going into the fourth quarter the Owls found themselves leading by only six points before their offense came to life, scoring 26 points in the final quarter. Not only their offense, the Owls defense came up big as they held the Roos at 47 for a majority of the fourth quarter, holding them to only ten points and only three field goals. The Owls were led by Davila who totaled 17 points and added 4 assists. Hunter Mercier (Fairfield, ME) finished the game with 14 points while shooting a perfect 4-4 from the three, leading the Owls outstanding shooting from deep, as they shot 56% from the three as a team. Paige Espling (Caribou, ME) also finished with 14 points as well and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Owls will head back home to host NAC cross divisional opponent Cazenovia on January 14.
