Presque Isle, ME - The North Atlantic Conference recently announced its End of the Season Honors for the 2018/2019 Basketball season. Emmy Churchill, a junior guard for the UMPI Owls from Washburn, Maine, was selected to the Sportsmanship Team according to Head Coach Gavin Kane. The NAC released the statement that the Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees have positively affected the basketball culture and environment, and regularly demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity that goes beyond the playing rules.
"Emmy has stood out for us in terms of her daily effort in practices and games, as well as the way she carries herself on and off the court," said Kane. "She is respectful of her teammates, Coaches, Officials and opponents. Emmy does a tremendous job in the classroom, and with the job she works at on campus, along with providing outstanding leadership by example both in Cross Country and Basketball for our University.
