Waterville, ME – The Thomas College Women's Basketball Team defeated UMaine-Presque Isle 79-63 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening at Larry Mahaney Gym on the campus of Thomas College.

The Terriers jumped out to an early lead, going up 14-4 just five minutes into the 1st quarter behind a 3 pointer from Edward Little High School grad Karli Stubbs and an offensive rebound and put back by Addie Brinkman. Three more foul shots by Wright and a Reagle layup after a steal by Kendra Silvers, followed by a 3 pointer by Wright got the Owls back into the game at 28 to 19. After a Thomas timeout, the Terriers would go on a run and went into halftime ahead 44-27.

The Owls began to close the gap in the third, starting the quarter on a furious 15-4 run led by an Emmy Churchill (Jr. Washburn, ME) 3 pointer and two free thows that made it 48-42 in favor of Thomas. The Terriers separated themselves again midway in the fourth as UMPI hurt themselves with turnovers and fouls.  A Churchill drive and score and the foul shot by Churchill had the Owls down 64 to 58 at the 6:47 mark. Two Reagle free throws got UMPI back to within six points 64 to 58 at the 5:42 mark of the 4th quarter but that was a s close as the Owls would get. Thomas eventually outscored UMPI 23-11 in the quarter to pull away with the 79-63 victory.
