Presque Isle, ME - The SUNY Canton Roos came in to Widen Hall Gymnasium and walked out with an important 53 to 40 North Atlantic Conference win over the UMPI Owls Friday night. The Roos (3-10, 2-3 NAC) gained an advantage over the Owls (5-8, 1-4 NAC) with the victory as NAC Teams will jostle the next four weeks for the six playoff positions available.
Neither Team scored early on until the Owls Hunter Mercier (Fr. Fairfiled, ME) drained a 3 pointer on an assist from Kendra Silvers at the 7:50 mark of the 1st Quarter. Silvers (So. North Berwick, ME) would hit a baseline jumper on a feed from Emmy Churchill for a 5 to 0 UMPI advantage. UMPI would continue to struggle offensively in the 2nd quarter but a Marissa Valdivia-Reagle (So. Seattle, WA) layup would bring the Owls to within four points 16 to 12.
