UMPI Women Roll Past Unity

Presque Isle, ME - UMaine-Presque Isle jumped out to a 15 to 0 lead to start the game and never looked back on its way to a 69 to 17 win over the Unity College Rams in a game played at Wieden Hall on the UMPI Campus. The Owls improved their record to (4-3) on the season while Unity now stands at (1-8).

UMPI subbed freely throughout the game with 9 players getting into the scoring column for the Owls. Hunter Mercier (Fr. Fairfield, ME) paced the Home Team with 17 points hitting on five of six 3 pointers. Center Rhylee Wright (Jr. Frenchville, ME) scored 16 points and pulled down 7 rebounds while point guard Sara Musselman (Fr. Turlock, CA) added 10 points and secured 6 boards. Emmy Churchill (Jr. Washburn, ME) grabbed 7 rebounds for the Owls as did forward Laura Aroz (Jr. Tucson, AZ). Marissa Valdivia-Reagle dished out a team-high 6 assists and added 6 rebounds.

Junior guard Samantha Jalkowski led the Rams with 11 points.

Next up: UMPI will next play at UMFK at 6:00PM on Wednesday December 12th and then will Host UMaine-Machias Friday December 14th at 7:30PM.
