WATERVILLE, ME – The Thomas Terriers (3-5) would cruise to a 85-48 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls (0-6) on Wednesday evening in Waterville.
The Owls would be down just two before going on a scoring drought in the first quarter that would allow their hosts to jump out to a big lead. UMPI would go over five minutes without scoring to end the first period, while the Terriers would rattle off 17 points in the same period to give them a 28-9 lead.
While the Owls offense would pick up from there, the Thomas attack proved to be too much for UMPI. The Terriers would covert on 44.8% of their shots, including knocking down 12 of 24 from three-point, to build an insurmountable lead.
The Owls travel to Farmington on Sunday to take the University of Maine at Farmington. That game is scheduled for a 2 pm tip.
