OVERLAND PARK, KS – The Association of Division III Independents announced their postseason All-Independent Women's Basketball Awards on Friday. The Owls' Amanda Hotham and Rhylee Wright would receive honors.
Hotham (SR, Fort Fairfield, ME) led the team in scoring this season averaging 13.8 points per game. She would collect 8.9 rebounds per game and shoot 33% from behind the three-point line. She would score a personal season high of 24 points on three occasions, at Thomas on November 15th in the season opener, at Maine Fort Kent on January 28th, and at Pratt on February 3rd. The performance at Pratt will be her most memorable as she would score her 1,000th career point late in the third quarter. Hotham was named to the All-Independent Second Team.
Wright (FR, Frenchville, ME) would come on strong at the end of the season and end up averaging 9.9 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. Wright would have multiple double-doubles for the Owls this season and score her season high of 22 points on two occasions. She would end up with 22 points and 12 rebounds against SUNY Canton on January 11th, and help the Owls overcome Maine-Fort Kent for the first time in four years on February 12th. Her 22 points and 10 rebounds would help the Owls in a 67-58 victory. Wright was named to the All-Independent Third Team.
